Week 47: November 19-25

Nov 25
Drawing chocolates for a client. Coloured in photoshop. This was in addition to the previous days.

Nov 24
More Cinnamon's chocolates, these drawing are featured on a bookmark promoting their new line of dark bitter sweet chocolates.

Nov 23
The great thing about doing photoshoots at a marketing company is you get all these great pics of entire bodies. Here the models are having fun, jumping in the air and having fun. I didn't get that subtlety of "we're yelling but we're not angry just goofing around" in their faces but it more about the balance and proportions of the body.

Nov 22
Another good pose from the photoshoot.

Nov 21
Found an amazing photoshoot from Japan where all the women dressed in semi-traditional japanese clothes in a northern town with natural hot springs. Gorgeous stuff.

November 20
Art night. Drew this while watching bottle rocket, maybe the movie made me a bit goofy because this is just silly. I can't decide if the drawing are really bad or just trace or two from being awesome?

November 19
Truly "random" drawings. Random, most misused word since literally or basically. But in this case I was just choosing pictures - at random - and drawing them.

Week 46: Nov 12-18

November 18
Just copying straight from Akira comics to learn the design of Otomo's style.

November 17
Lia. I'm finding the level of my life-drawing to be ever increasing. Now when I draw from photos it just doesn't have that vitality. I think it's because my skill of seeing real things has surpassed what i see when I draw from a photo. Drawing from photo lately has been more a practice of different poses, proper construction and proportions and shape relationships. Practicing just makes drawing more complex but, hopefully, more sophisticated.

November 16
Freehand doodling, trying to get solid looking subjects.
November 15
Drawing from photos

November 14
More castaways.

November 13
The horror.

November 12

Week 45: November 5-11

November 11
Various girls with various shapes, sizes and attitudes.

November 10
You know by now...

November 9
I don't know what it means - it's provocative.
- Chazz

November 8
Doodles just make no goddamn sense.

November 7
Broke a pink pen and got this kind of pattern when I rolled it over my soltron bot.

November 6
Leaving the City. Did this in a quick art night sitting, ball point pen, watercolours, and white ink. Added some colour in photoshop as well.

November 5
Practice Practice Practice. I figure I have about two more years of practice before I'm really really happy with what I see and how I draw it.

Week 44: October 29 - November 4

November 4
Marching babies falling from a tree. I find it funny how some excellent artists simply can't draw babies. Like those renaissance period paintings where baby jesus is just a miniature bald man. Weird. Maybe because I've been raised on Japanese drawings of big heads and big eyes, babies just come more naturally.

November 3
Normally I don't allow people to go on too long about their dreams because: BORING! But Lia had a good one the other night where all these gymnasts were riding a ferris wheel and doing crazy flips and stuff. This is part of that idea.

November 2
Some Burmese toddlers with face paint, the one on the right is from my own head, inspired from the left which was drawn from a photo.

November 1
Soltron Bot with some perspective

October 31
At the Cobalt! Found this pic on my buddy Derek's myspace. Only been to the Cobalt once and it was pretty raw. The band and the audience weren't really getting along, what with the audience berating the band, and the band hitting people in the head with a mic stand and then the audience retaliating with bottles to the head.

October 30
Just a peaceful afternoon at home, drawing the trees outside.

October 29
I was really disappointed in the Les Savy Fav posters that the local artist made for they're upcoming show, probably should have followed through with this sketch.

Week 43:October 22-28

October 28
Feel asleep late afternoon Sunday, couldn't sleep when I usually do, so I was up late sketching with the tv on (men's gymnastics olympic qualifier and davinci's inquest). Ball point pen and coloured pencil and blue paper.

October 27
Getting into period piece movies lately. Love the colour palettes, sets and costumes.

October 26
Didn't even want to think about anything related to art the day after my big show so I just threw in this unfinished piece that got finished and was at my show.

October 25
ART SHOW TONIGHT!! This was the last piece I finished for my show. I finished it at 5:05 pm and I was expecting people at 6! The paint dried in time and it was quite a success with over 80 people showing up and enjoying the beer and the afterlife! Hope to see some more shows come about for myself because of this...
October 24
Myanmar Monk.

October 23

October 22
Composition and colour sketch for a painting I never completed. In fact I restarted on another canvas (see Octomber 28).
