Week 30: July 23-29

July 29
Playing lots with perspective, composition and form.

July 28
Same here. Looking at lots of Ashley Wood from Perth Australia. He's terribly good at composing interesting - yet deceptively complex - figures. He makes it look so haphazard and rushed, but when you look at a thigh or a hand, you're just amazed by how right he is. I was just in Perth, I should have visited him and another of my favourite artists, Shaun Tan. Darn.

July 27
Tortoise study.

July 26
I saw this hanging out of a dumpster off cordova, had to draw it. Hope that garbage strike ends soon...

July 25
Soltron lives...off apple slices apparently.

July 23
Did this one in Salmon Arm as well. A giant lumbering through a rainforest with those wool socks you get a mark's work warehouse. Something about the soft edges is very whimsical. The trees in the foreground could be more pronounced.
